Our story: a 15th-century Breton farmhouse

It all began in the early 1990s, when Rauni and Gilbert Josset settled at the hamlet of Saint-Aubin, on the heights above Erquy, a stone's throw from the priory. She comes from Finland, he is Breton: together they opened a restaurant in a fine 17th-century house, which for more than thirty years would be a well-known address in the Erquy area. People came for grilled dishes cooked over the open fire and the atmosphere of another time.

That chapter has now closed: after a fine career as restaurateurs, Rauni and Gilbert have retired from the kitchen. What remains is the best of it: the art of welcoming guests, and a full, generous breakfast, served on request, which still bears the mark of the house.

Across the road stands an old 15th-century stone farmhouse. It is this building that today houses the bed & breakfast rooms and the holiday cottages, and it is to this house that Relais Saint-Aubin is entirely devoted. Completely renovated, it combines six centuries of history with every modern comfort: spacious suites under the beams, stone walls, new bedding, geothermal heating. Outside, the garden, the terrace and the flower-filled courtyard are yours.
